      Good company going downhill fast - stop the bleeding

      Nice people to work with - it used to be an excellent company

      Cons

      Upper Management / chaotic environment / only one new product called Mindtap - not living up to it's hype at all / flight of really good people / goals are set without much thought / poor understanding of certain territories

      good people work at the company - it used to be a great company / people work hard at Cengage

      Cons

      poor compensation / unrealistic goals in certain parts of the country because management is not tuned in to the different areas / chaotic environment / slow on product development / a lot of backorder issues since the filing of Chapter 11 / counting too much on one digital product to pull Cengage out of this mess and it isn't enough

      Pros

      Good pay, good benefits...at least before the bankruptcy.

      Cons

      The operation is being run by mangers with few years experience as managers and no experience running operations in some markets. Some of the Sales Directors take great pride in "managing- up" to their bosses instead of finding ways to win new business for people in the field. Constant lay-offs over the last year has stripped the company of most people who were successful and knew how to get things done. No real technology product development and the product that they do have is not ready for wide distribution.
