Pros

My immediate team (excluding management)

Cons

High Client Churn & Outdated Product: The company is losing a lot of clients. The business is purely focused on making short-term money rather than building actual client relationships through proper account management. On top of that, with the industry rapidly adopting AI, the core platform offerings feel completely outdated. Competitors are doing ten times better, making it incredibly hard to retain accounts. Robotic Sales Approach: The sales pitches the team is forced to use are incredibly rigid and robotic. The scripts force you to ask clients the exact same questions multiple times, which makes the conversations feel unnatural and leaves the clients feeling awkward and uncomfortable. Intense Micromanagement: The micromanagement there is exhausting. Everything is looked at through a magnifying glass, to the point where you can’t even send a standard email without being told it’s wrong. There is zero autonomy, and this level of hyper-scrutiny completely slows down daily work. Constant Role Shifts, Low Pay & Flawed Commission: Job roles and responsibilities are changed and added to almost every single week without any clear direction. Employees are expected to do a massive amount of work for incredibly low base pay. To make matters worse, the commission structure feels intentionally designed so that you barely ever receive it, the incentives are entirely un-incentivising and moving goalposts make hitting targets nearly impossible. Management Instability: There is no long-term strategy for the business. Upper management structures seem to change constantly, making it impossible to keep up or maintain any real momentum. Unprofessional Offboarding Process: The culture surrounding employee departures is highly problematic. Upon giving notice, the micromanagement tends to intensify and the environment becomes hostile. There are also significant delays and hurdles regarding final payroll, getting earned commissions paid out, and receiving standard departure documentation on time.

Thank you for sharing your feedback. We’re sorry to hear about some of your experiences working at Centellic and will review the points raised internally to see where we can make improvements. As a business, we are actively evolving our product offering to keep pace with industry developments, including the increasing role of AI, and to strengthen long-term client relationships. Alongside this, we are reviewing how our sales frameworks are applied to ensure they continue to support natural, client-focused conversations. Culture and environment is something we take great pride in and creating a place to work where people feel trusted and empowered. We acknowledge your feedback on this and will review where this may not always be felt consistently in the business. On role clarity, pay, and commission structures, we understand the importance of transparency and fairness, and we continue to review these areas to ensure expectations and incentives are aligned. Finally, we are committed to ensuring a professional and respectful experience for employees at all stages, including offboarding. Any concerns raised in this area are being taken seriously and will be reviewed. We wish you all the best in the future.

Pros

Relatively flexible and responsive when needed

Cons

Pay for most reporters is below the London Living Wage and there are limited growth opportunities. They are currently undergoing lots of redundancies. They have hired a lot of people to come in with dubious job titles who are aimlessly obsessed with AI and approaching strategy in a very confusing way. The rest of the company seems pretty happy but the editorial department suffers a serious lack of energy, ideas, and management talent. The publications write for a highly-specialised audience and want 'experts' but exclusively hire graduates on paltry wages. It's tolerable for a short period or to get a foot in the door, but it's not a proper newsroom and there's no real commitment to journalism. It's a private equity-backed company which has just undergone a merger with a similar US company, so its interests are 100% corporate. Unfortunately over the past year there has been more and more AI slop and poor quality work. Not the journalists' fault, it's what management has pushed. Would not recommend.

Thank you for taking the time to leave a review – we really appreciate the feedback. We’re sorry to hear you feel this way about pay and progression. Just to clarify, all of our London-based office roles are aligned with or above the London Living Wage, which was reviewed as part of our most recent pay review cycle. We do recognise though that the business has been going through a period of change, including some restructuring and investment in new areas. We know this can feel uncertain at times, and we’re continuing to work on making our direction and decision making clearer for everyone. It’s great to hear that you’ve experienced the team as flexible and responsive – that’s something we’re really proud of and want to keep building on. Thanks again for sharing your perspective, and we wish you all the best for the future.

Pros

There are some great people working there and it is easy to make friends if you are a social person.

Cons

- Near impossible to squeeze a promotion or pay rise. - Management are just awful. - If your team has done well, but another team is behind, they will force all teams to go to the office at least 4 days a week until improvements are seen. - Lack of trust, sick leave is very frowned upon and you will be asked for proof of appointments etc. Someone's relative passed away and I heard her manager say she was 'making excuses' to be off. So many more cons, just don't bother applying.
