Pros
I’m on a great team with a really awesome manager doing incredibly impactful and rewarding work in a city I love! Pay was better than expected and benefits are pretty strong. I am able to mostly work from home through the pandemic and have been well supported by my team and our partners while doing so.
Cons
I am not a front-line, client-facing staff person so my experience is vastly different than many in the organization. CCC has some significant room for improvement. Between serious union-busting efforts at various facilities and the fact that CCC is working directly in the thick of Portland’s homelessness, drug, and mental health crises many CCC staff are given the short end of the stick with their wages and working conditions.
