Pros

- The pay is good. - Benefits are decent.

Cons

- The Housing Admin office specifically is a horrifically Toxic place to work. - Reported bullying exists but goes unchecked. - Turnover rate is outrageous, HR chooses to turn a blind-eye. - No protection for personal information, not yours or your clients. - Laws aren't followed - People violating discrimination laws are held personally liable - Watch out CCC, you're in violation. - Outdated equipment - Everything is just a ... little.. dirty. That kinda ick sticky? THERE ARE LITERAL COCKROACHES FALLING FROM THE CEILING AND THEY KNOW!!! They don't care. They believe they are normal and every building in downtown has them. I just came from a year over at Home Forward, they did not.

Pros

Fighting the Good Fight, Well Integrated with City and County initiatives, I believe the largest housing provider in town, lots of different positions and different branches so there is the possibility of advancement or transfers, they have a surprisingly talented IT team that takes a while to get stuff done but is very active and ambitious. CEO Andy is a good guy.

Cons

Poor pay. CCC employees once had a reputation of being paid fairly well, that's definitely not the case now. Lots of vacation days because they give those as a substitute for wage increases. VERY unprofessional employees and managers. It's awesome that they are a second-chance-employer but it also makes the whole organization feel like a dysfunctional family reunion. Lots of behavior you would never accept at another job is totally normalized. Tons of bullying culture (depending on what department you are in) I think because of incompetent middle managers. Lots of the different parts of CCC don't talk to each other or coordinate care well, despite all the fancy expensive tech. Sometimes clients and residents are being re-traumatized by dumb internal policies so you have to deal with that while enforcing those policies. Senior management seems good (new executive director is a good guy) but are on another planet - badly needed safety policy took 6 months to be updated and it still sucked. Overall I think CCC got too big and has adopted the corporate healthcare model instead of the street medicine model. But very different from section to section.
