      Good ideas, poor execution, lack of focus

      Pros

      Good people, trying hard to make it work Virtual workforce, appreciate being able to work from anywhere

      Cons

      Lack of strategic vision. No real consistent message to company or to market. Confusing and unfocused to market, to employees. Difficult to know what the company is focused on. Lack of inspirational leadership. Don't seem to really "get it", but do seem to be able to get VC funding. Out of touch with market and corporate reality

      Good people Innovative technology Commitment to customer satisfaction Has potential to be great out of the box solution provider

      Cons

      Management is myopic and out of touch with market trends Inability to hire and retain "best and brightest" Lacks some critical expertise in markets served causing the product to "play catch up" Management changes direction and focus too often Reviews, bonuses, increases, recognition of "job well done" are far and few between No set career paths or promotion plans HR is a mess. Nor formal reviews, salaries are not market competitive

      Cons

      Every customer engagement is a custom project. They don't know how to build a product company. They don't know how to research a market opportunity, then design a solution around it.
