Pros

That you are on the road meeting customers most of the time and you don't have to see or listen to the owner.

Cons

You essentially have to learn the CertaPro smoke and mirrors sales technique and lie to your customers. All we do is broker the painting job and sub it out to undocumented workers who speak very little English, are not background checked and are paid minimum wages in cash , while CertaPro charges 300% more to the customer. Also, we spray paint your house and essentially finish painting it in a quarter of the time we charge you for. I feel bad charging the prices I do because I know customers could save thousands of dollars with other non-franchise painting contractors but it's like stealing money from uneducated consumers.

Can't really give you an honest PRO, sales meeting were fun but totally fake and inflated. If you are franchise owner it's probably beneficial and you are the only one that make any income . Worked for Certa pro 5 years(No Benefits no Raises, no Bonus, start income 20k end income straight commission 33k

Cons

Franchise owners have no construction or industry experience most of them are all corporate rejects. Certa Pro truly sells products they can't deliver, You feel for the subcontractor they hire who get totally screwed when the owner makes 50 to 60% of a 4k sale subs pay for material get totally ripped. you earn 7% of sale only paid when complete(Could take weeks) Most customers are expecting the white guy in the commercials and then freak out when the non English speaking crew arrived they call to complain. No site super vision so you are not only selling and trying make 35 estimates a week but also manage 10 paint jobs .

Pros

The training videos were quite good and not dry as paint like other companies. Learned a ton and my trainer was good about letting me use his iPad to conduct estimates and walk me through them to get hands on learning. Friendly team that welcomed me in well and owner was kind enough to treat the team to a Griffins game.

Cons

The onboarding could have been a bit smoother, they weren't quite ready to hire a new person. Biggest con was getting let go after 2 weeks while still in training. He mentioned it was due to them not being able to afford me because sales were low. But couldn't that have been perceived before I was hired? He gave some constructive feedback as well.
