Pros

Techs made good money but that was only to keep them from leaving due to all the chaos and unprofessionalism.

Cons

Very poor management from the corporate level (Vp’s and regional managers). The intimidation tactics and things said about people leaving we sickening. It is just a poorly run company by bullies on power trips. You are simply a number to corporate.

Everyone is entitled to their opinions, and we respect that. We’re sorry you didn’t enjoy your time at CertaSite, but we do not use intimidation tactics whatsoever and if anyone you encountered did that, we would hope you spoke with your manager or supervisor about it. CertaSite associates are simply not just numbers. We have a new leadership structure who is worked diligently to make sure the right people are in the right place, and the team is always transparent and open to feedback from anyone at the company. We encourage employees to share any challenges they have, and we listen with empathy and then strive to do better. If anyone is treated with any less respect than this, we hope they will report it so we can immediately address it. Each year, CertaSite works with a third party to conduct anonymous employee engagement surveys. Based on our most recent employee engagement survey, more than 90% of our employees say they have a strong working relationship with their supervisor and 80% believe CertaSite is a great place to work, both of which increased from 2021 survey results. These results right here contradict some of the statements you’ve made. We have a new HR team in place and are creating a fun, unique culture at CertaSite that is inclusive and accepting of everyone. We’re creating a place that’s an Employer of Choice. As with any company, there are always some bumps in the road along the way, and we’re no different.

Pros

Brach employees and culture are as good as it gets.

Cons

Toxic Corporate structure is slowly infecting everything we do. This negatively effects office staff, shop staff, and road technicians. Blame for bad decisions is always placed on branch management. This has led to less than ideal turnover and the loss of very quality people. The corporate team has an egotistical approach to dealing with branch management and employees.

Pros

- Fellow technicians are great people, easy to work with and helpful. - Above average pay for entry level/unlicensed work. - Flexibility in organizing your schedule.

Cons

- Extremely poor training - There is no established training program, your training comes in a mixed bag of scattered information from your peers. The next closest thing we have to standardized training is a web interface with some slideshows and multiple choice tests, which is sadly not at all sufficient for the kind of work we do. - Heavy micromanagement - Corporate policies and minute-to-minute oversight mean a workday full of anxiety and never feeling like anything can be good enough. Standout high performance becomes overshadowed by any and all shortcomings. Otherwise minor issues become entire meeting topics. Is your vehicle idle? Did you have too few jobs in a day? Did your paperwork take too long to upload? Did you clock into a worksite in the wrong place? Did you take 20 extra pictures for this or that job? Did you fill out your daily vehicle report? Where is your monthly vehicle report? Why were you in this place instead of that place? Why did you go to help this other technician at their job site? What happened where your clock events on this job site look weird from 6 weeks ago? It gets to be extremely grating and overwhelming considering how many things you are already tracking and responsible for. The micromanagement bloat multiplies all of it. - Obsession with metrics - Overly focused on meeting quotas and metric thresholds without regard for human elements or the day to day reality of the work. There's a very real, tangible sense of having to overperform in order to satisfy investors and our corporate office. - Disorganized, conflicting demands and mixed signals from management on top of poor communication. This has caused problems everywhere from scheduling errors to work responsibilities to day-to-day job organization. - Negative atmosphere - Emails and group texts absolutely chock full of alerts from management about how one thing or another isn't perfect. Not much positivity or recognition to be found a vast majority of the time. I could go on and on, but the summary is that the company feels very disorganized and the day to day just isn't a very welcoming or positive experience.

We appreciate your feedback and are glad you enjoy your co-workers and the flexible work schedules. Based on our most recent employee engagement survey, more than 90% of our employees agree with you about the flexible work schedules. To that, 80% believe CertaSite is a great place to work, a number which increased from the previous year. Your review shows you’re a current CertaSite employee, and as a current employee, we would hope you have discussed many of the items you’ve mentioned above with your current supervisor or HR director. Through our CertaSite Academy, employees can create their own path and rise to the top. It’s up to them and their dedication to their role. If you want to continue learning and growing, it’s on you. CertaSite provides employees the opportunities, but it’s up to the employee if they want to take them. To go along with this, we are currently working on beefing up the CertaSite Academy and introducing a mentor program that can help with a variety of training. In regards to your micromanagement statement. Everything we do at CertaSite is for our customers. The questions being asked are not considered micromanagement – it’s a process to hold people accountable for the work they should be doing in their respective roles. To address your comment about metrics and quotas, our company goals and numbers may seem ambitious, but they are carefully planned and drafted based on performance and predictions. It may seem some numbers are out of reach, but CertaSite’s goals and numbers are truly attainable when the right people are in the right place. We have seen this by individuals who time and again vastly outperform their quotas. Ultimately, these questions are to benefit our customers and provide a meaningful impact to as many lives as possible. At CertaSite, we always strive to live up to our mission and our vision. We are continually working toward becoming an Employer of Choice, which starts with the right people in the right seats. Communications and alignment come from that. We are diligently working on our communication amongst branches. Not only has accountability changed, but we are now conducting more transparent meetings with key stakeholders at our branches. We have initiated more in-person meetings – individually and in small groups - at branches and are reconnecting to make sure everyone from the leadership team to our technicians is on the same page and everyone is heard. Cross-functional team meetings and quarterly planning team meetings are part of our larger effort that will help keep the company aligned. We don’t take any comments or feedback lightly, and we understand every company has missteps, which we’re not immune to. But, with our new HR leadership and COO, we’re now on the path to listening more intently and realigning where we were previously off track.
