Pros

Charlie Health is taking the feedback to heart regarding investing in our in-office culture. The NYC office is working to create an environment where people eat lunch together, we have extra curricular events (ie. Soccer/pickleball) and the leadership team is taking to heart ideas for everyone's input regarding snacks and happy hour ideas. The most impactful pro that I get from being here at CH is that leadership deeply cares about the success of the business and the employees of the NYC office.

Pros

Working at Charlie Health is a start-up experience like no other. My colleagues are incredibly sharp and motivated, and the work is both diverse and rewarding. The challenges in this business are not always easy to solve and conversations can be difficult - this is a function of being a mental healthcare company with thousands of kids in treatment at any given time! Overall a great place to gain exposure and step into responsibility early on in your career - while doing something truly impactful.

Cons

Company has grown tremendously over the last 2 years, especially in remote employees. This comes with normal growing pains like a somewhat confusing org structure and unclear path to promotion. It feels like the founders recognize that and are working to make improvements for longer-term internal career progression - but it could have happened earlier.

Very supportive culture and care from supervisors and colleagues.

Cons

High caseload requirements (28+ week) with additional administrative burdens (coordinating cases etc) including a lot of educational/training requirements. Cases can be difficult so the high number of sessions required a week was the reason for leaving. Work life balance was difficult as was sitting behind my computer for more than 40 hours a week with the majority of that being on video.
