Pros

CH meets my criteria for a well-paying position with the convenience and comfort of working from home. There is even a four-day workweek option that I have loved so far. Staff across all departments have been great to work with, and I have a wonderful supervisor and director.

Cons

Like all WFH/remote positions, getting to know co-workers and making those personal connections is challenging. However, this is to be expected and is not a significant issue.

Pros

I absolutely love the company culture at Charlie Health. From day one I was embraced by everyone I connected with in the company. The mission is held by all who work here and collaboration is executed across departments regularly with a positive attitude and willingness to be the best for one another in order to best serve the adolescents and young adults we care for. I was recruited and I am so glad that I joined. This is my dream job thanks to my team, the ways in which my strengths are supported and affirmed regularly. We love to promote one another's amazing work and the actual programming is truly one of a kind. I believe very, very deeply in the strength of our IOP and ability it has to connect folks and save lives.

Cons

Not for the faint of heart. This is a very fast paced role and environment. You will thrive if you are a self-starter that does well with a supportive framework but lots of room to really flex your skills in relationship building and networking in your own creative style. There are so many ways to do well at this job and you will be embraced for your creativity but if you are looking for a clear cut role with a standardized approach and low expectations - this is not for you! We are completely virtual as well so if you are adverse to technology and unwilling to adapt to the format - you should look elsewhere.

Pros

- huge impact, your career will be accelerated - financially strong company in a down economy - a 'human' mission worth of our best efforts - create a world without suicidal ideation This company is not for the faint of heart. We are doing something really hard, in a company that is less than 5 years old. The great news is that the company is doing very well fiscally - especially in light of an economy where companies are laying off. This is a START UP, in the truest sense of the word. We are building teams as we go. Success puts so much stress on the team, and we all are driven to succeed in our mission because reducing and eliminating suicides - especially in adolescent and young adults - is worth our best effort. We do not have all the trapping of a large public company, but that's what working at a start-up is about!

Cons

- still figuring out competitive benefits (but I'm confident we will) - still figuring out how to bring in strong leadership (already happening, but need to go faster as the team is crying for help) - building out teams to create a durable company, we underinvested in key teams like HR (but our founders know and are quickly trying to fix it) In 5 years, people will see that Charlie Health overcame some difficult organizational challenges. But the impact we will have had in the community who need mental healthcare support will have been worth all of it. NO STARTUP was perfect in the beginning. The lasting companies kept their eye on their mission and had ambitious leaders to help the company navigate the tough times in the early stages. We are going through those growing pains as we speak. But it is worth it!
