Pros

A good place to start your career, having JP morgan chase on your resume is a plus. However, JP Morgan and Chase are 2 very different organizations. Those who work for JP morgan always state they work for JP morgan, never for Chase. They are always hiring, however, there is a very high turn over rate for this position.

Cons

Major Micro-management, impossible to promote into any other departments from retail banking center. Management is not concerned with your career, however, there own, and you will be replaced if you do not meet the requirements they require. You can make decent money as long as you worry about your own pockets, and your own future, and less of that of management. Management will promote those they like, as oppose to those who work hard, and get the job done.

Pros

- Paid Series 6, 63, Group 1 Life insurance training and testing for new bankers.

Cons

- "Cheerleader" trainers who haven't been in the field for years - Manager's who are under qualified and only in position because of Washington Mutual days - Push products to customers who don't need them; brainwash bankers/tellers to think they are helping the customer - Success is highly determined on your location - Late "call nights" in which you act as a telemarketer - Ambushing customers as they walk in the door

Pros

Good vacation and sick days

Cons

Severely over staffed branches, not tellers, just bankers, you just stand around all day, with nothing to do. Too many branches close together, no customer loyalty. Expensive health benefits, most employees have no insurance benefits at all, incompetent mgt, VERY LONG HOURS, Call nights, were you have to stay until 7:30pm,weekly, bad for single parents, compensation and incentive pay is terrible, way below market, incentive plan constantly changes, 3times a year.
