Pros

Name recognition Excellent benefits (health, dental, vision, 401k & pension, vacation time, etc) Barely affected by financial crisis Employee discounts Uncapped incentives pay

Cons

WAY too much sales pressure Open really late on Saturdays (my branch is open til 4) Low base salary Employees are not all treated equally in many ways: -I was given a "needs improvement" on my annual review even though I was in the top half of our district for PVC's and bankers in other branches who were doing worse than me got "meets expectations" -New bankers hired through college recruiting, rather than just applying, are paid higher base salaries -My branch manager refuses to see past the incredibly immature & unprofessional behavior of our newest hire, even though she's offended a lot of our customers & all of her coworkers, because he thinks the diversity is good for our branch -Management is willing to overlook the mistakes of some employees while refusing to recognize good work by others

Pros

My manager played a large role in why I enjoy working as a Banker. He is very fair and supportive, and put a lot of effort into helping me become successful.

Cons

There is TONS of compliance and regulation, it can become quite burdensome. Also the company is so large that you can feel like your job is not very important.
