Not a Bad Company

Pros

Experience and opportunities to grow are fruitful. The customers and the team you work with can make the whole difference. The baseline and core values of Chase are reasonable overall and it has amazing benefits.

Cons

The frequently add additional responsibilities without sufficient pay compensation and have made numerous 'slap-in-the-face-' transitions over the years. Additionally, this is NOT a bank for all. There is a huge catering towards wealthier clients - we have mortgage programs for less affluent clients that we had not been aware of and still have little to no information regarding those programs. Management can also be an issue depending on what manager or market director you work under. It is a numbers game too so expect a lot of cold calling and getting grilled if you are not pushing for sales hard enough.

Sales Pressure

Pros

Good hours, holidays off, Paid Time Off and Sick Time

Cons

Too sales focused. It's becoming more about what you can get out of the customers you see than actual customer service. They love to preach about being customer focused but if you don't generate enough investment referrals or other products they want to focus on they want to get rid of you. Good luck getting promoted while with the company. They put you on a plan to get promoted which can a year+ but hire externally for positions all the time.

Pros

-Base pay is not the best, but monthly incentive pay can be good. -Benefits are good, employee stock purchase plan, and additional free benefits - Lots of room to grow if you want it

Cons

- Location, location, location… did I say location? Very important factor of your earning potential beyond base salary. If you aren’t at branch that doesn’t see affluent customers, it’ll be tough. -Lots of focus on showing activity (in our sales force portal) rather than optimizing the way we reach clients
