Pros

- Work/Life Balance very doable - Interesting subject matter (financial derivatives) - On-site gym - On site pub (must bring own alcohol, but is a pretty cool venue!)

Cons

- Flat organization, limited opportunities for management - OTC derivatives regulation could ruin the main revenue source of company - Killed free soda and coffee perks due to down economy (should bring these perks back!)

My forever job

Pros

As an employee of a small, growing company, I have the chance to have an impact on the future of the business.

Cons

Because it is in the financial services sector, the economy can have a significant impact on the business. Additionally, during times of non-growth, the opportunities for employee growth and development seem to stall as well.

Pros

The people are very nice and fun to work with. It's a very relaxed atmosphere. I like the relaxed dress code. I have a lot of freedom to do things as I see fit (which can be good and bad). The company tries to do some fun things for the employees - little parties, etc.

Cons

There is very little clarity on pay - how it is determined and how it stacks up to everyone else. There is also very little in the way of clarity about the prospects for professional growth and advancement. There is a small core of insiders at the company that can pretty much do whatever they want without fear of reprisal. They can work as little as they like and their views and suggestions are listened to.
