Pros

The company has a great vision and made some terrific acquisitions over the past couple of years.

Cons

The compensation plans are terrible and they provide zero transparency when it comes to commission calculations. So much time is wasted fighting for what is owed to you and many people just give up.

Dying Company Guided By Horrible Leadership

Recommend

Business Outlook

Pros

- Pretty good benefits - There are some great people to work with - Good technology - Great place to get your feet wet because they are one of the few people who will hire you without technology experience (because they pay so poorly, they have to)

Cons

Check Point is a company that continues to lose market share at a rapid pace due to its outdated strategy and horrific management. The company places no value on sales and that comes straight from the CEO. The company grows at 5% a quarter or even less which is mind-boggling for a cybersecurity company. Their 2 main competitors do not even consider them competition at this point. The culture is horrific as US leadership has zero ability to do anything without Israel's blessing. Everything is micromanaged from Israel which takes forever and creates a culture of resentment. The biggest red flag is the leadership. When you listen to the head of global sales and US sales speak, you realize that they would not be the sales leader in any other tech organization in the world. All hands calls are the most uninspiring things you have ever heard. Many senior managers running the largest accounts in the company have no education beyond high school where peer organizations are being led by MBA's or people with advanced certifications. The company is beyond cheap and it creates a culture that sales managers tell you to lie on expense reports to make yourself whole due to outdated expense policies. The commission structure is unattainable and no one will tell you where your numbers come from or how they got there. This put on top on comp plans that pay people 25 to 40 percent below market value makes for a really bad sales organization that averages over 60% turnover year over year. The icing on the cake is that you will be selling a product that is 25% more expensive versus your competition. Check Point is also considered extremely difficult to work with by customers and partners. Once you leave, you will realize who few people actually want to deal with them. The culture is so bad and if you ever have an issue and go to HR, good luck. It's like working with someone that has the competence of a 3rd grader. Again, you get what you pay for.
