Pros

If you like software development then it's a nice place to work. Nice people. Central Tel Aviv office location. Free and subsidised food. Big office, many people. Regular training opportunities. They do take on fresh graduates, but sometimes the level of training is lacking. Which is a pro and con in one.

Cons

Management is top heavy. The compensation package lacks many perks found at other similar technology companies for example company car, business class travel, comprehensive healthcare and dental.

Absolutely nothing especially if it's a sales or marketing role.

Where do I start? They are coming thick and fast in my head. Let's see, how about lousy (read: below market compensation) for ALL roles? The HR has a mandate from the Tel Aviv HQ to hire ONLY sales reps and presales engineers with less than 9 years working experience to keep costs down. In a hyper-growth industry like cyber-security, any sales organization worth its salt would want to grab the best in the market and pay accordingly yet we have Check Point Software treating its sales staff little better than cheap chattel. In the words of one of my ex-colleagues " In his former company (OR****), sales are KINGS! In check point, sales are worse off than SLAVES. Superlatives yes but very true.

Positive work environment, accepting new ideas and initiatives, a lot of opportunities to grow and develop within the company

Salary might be lower than other competitive companies, but gives you a great opportunity to start and other compensation bonuses that make up for the gap

Bleeding edge cyber and critical data security solutions - opportunity to move within the corporate organization - small enough to be a big fish quickly - large enough to make things happen

Cons

Compensation scheme for sales is to put the sales folks on an island and burn the boat. Not my idea for wealth creation. meaning they reduce the number of accounts and increase you quota 30% or more over actuals - well above thier growth rate - meaning your value diminishes each year you stay on board. at some point, you move on.
