Pros

Awesome people that are really passionate about the mission. It's at the fun stage of a start up where there is processes in place but nothing is set in stone. You can tell management wants people to enjoy where they work.

Cons

I haven't run in to too many yet. I'm coming from another start up so I'm used to the chaos.

Pros

Executive leadership walks the walk - An environment where people really care about each other - this applies to leadership as well! - Leadership has a clear vision and provides good focus and direction - Collaboration is fostered and everyone's contributions are appreciated - Lot's of upward mobility. Many teammates have moved to different roles within the organization and it's encouraged and supported - Mission & Values driven company - Product is badass and continues to get better. Heavy investment on innovation and being the best - An orientation that was way better than my larger, past enterprise employers - Fair compensation that makes you feel appreciated

Cons

Limited Work From Home policy - which is still evolving

Pros

- Meaningful work. While working for a company that runs background checks might not sound glamorous at first, it's a product with a surprising amount of impact on the lives of all Americans. Checkr has a very strong mission and vision to make background checks more accurate, fair, and transparent. Checkr provides amazing support services for job applicants and cares about helping people find jobs/get second chances. - Inclusive engineering culture. No "bros" here, just good engineers who are willing to help their teammates out. Checkr has made a big effort recently to increase the diversity of their engineering team and it has worked. - Very high level of transparency. The CEO (and most other managers) hold weekly office hours so anybody can stop in for 20 minutes to chat/ask questions. Once a week we hold an all hands meeting and get briefings from each of the teams on how the company is doing. Everyone in the company is aware of how much revenue the company has made in the last month, what sales contracts are under negotiations, and the anticipated direction of the company. - I'm not really a "perks" person. Working with decent human beings is more important to me than you standard tech office perks. That said, the perks here are pretttty nice. Great medical, dental, and vision. Free lunch and dinner every day - which includes a great selection of food items for every food restriction you can think of. Reimbursable transportation and gym costs (there's also a very nice free gym in the office building). Stock options. Company offsite trips and events.

Cons

Checkr has grown a lot recently. They were very intentional about how they have scaled and they have done a better job than most to maintain cohesion. However, there are still some growing pains in terms of teams that need to be restructured or having more training for managers. This is just some nitpicking though - you should work here, it's great :)
