Pros

The absolute only positive comment I can share is this company provides services to the public and make health care reachable to undeserved areas.

Cons

Where do I start. The company is ran by Doctors who do not have any business knowledge. In several years, they have shifted approach from wanting to be like chic filet and the Ritz Carlton, which is mind bogllgling since both are completely two different Industrys. The moment I heard the CEO mentioning wanting to model a Healthcare company after a restaurant and Hotel, that should have been a big red flag. The company is ran by incompetent leaders that failed with their previous employers from California and Texas. These leaders are single handling responsible for the current failures of the company but are some how insulated from fault and their failures drastically affected the company resulting in over 300 employee termination. The company is failing its current employees by terminating those that are lower level employees instead of holding those that failed to meet the growth goal or even suggested the growth route responsible. My only suggestion to the current leaders would be to stop with the current terminations, you've already lost employee loyalty and have drastically ruined your reputation in the industry as "best place to work" review your current leaders and start making cuts from that level. During that leader review process, I guarantee you'll find that these leaders are friends or colleagues from previous companies and have created a culture of promoting friends instead of hard working current employees. If anyone is interested in applying, PLESSe Do not apply. The company is currently suffering and terminating employees.

Pros

- Decent pay for the South Florida area - Development had a good amount of code reviews; they seemed to care for clean code, which helps product

Cons

Saying this as level-headed and objectively as possible, comparing this to my prior and current experience in Product Management. Pay attention to these realistic reviews. - Micromanagement, toxic and cult-like culture Every email and message you wrote was skinned and picked apart. You had zero freedom to set your own roadmap. An IT standup every single day, early in the morning, in which a different person every day recites the various ChenMed values and gives a tiny speech; it was the same thing over and over with everyone pretending to believe in it. The senior leadership were so toxic and demanding, backstabbing, and plain rude. - No REAL product focus The product folks there pretended they were keeping up with product trends and product practices but the higher ups received their marching orders from the execs. There was no care for product best-practices and this is definitely not a product-led organization; you will not excel in your product career here. - Unrealistic Expectations The product higher-ups expected the rest of the product team to also be a proJECT manager. They gave team members large BOGUS initiatives that were unrealistic. One initiative required giving devices to patients and the product person was expected to be on top of the delivery of the devices, which stickers went on the devices, how many patients received devices, how many of those devices were returned or unused, etc, etc. You were also expected to have perfect analytics on iterative projects with usage data that the platform didn't even support yet. When you didn't have data, you were chewed out into the dirt, publicly. - Fear-culture Product and development cultures were driven by FEAR. All the "lower" folks in product and development had to be careful what they said, tiptoe around upper management, and make sure they were ALWAYS online ALWAYS. - Non-innovative This company has terrible looking internal products. If you work on the healthcare side here in product, all of this company's platforms looked like hot garbage. There is no space for innovation or creativity because you had to bow down to ever request of the "stakeholders", even though all of the apps were looked disgusting and boring. FYI - your "stakeholders" were the execs that wanted everything yesterday or some docs that were the most disrespectful people ever. - Many many more reasons to NOT work here but I've typed a lot. tl;dr - If you value your product career growth, are looking to be a mentor, or be mentored.. DO NOT WORK HERE, honestly.

Focusing on reinventing preventative primary care for the neediest populations comes with a lot of responsibility. Raising the bar means we must hold our employees to a higher standard than most. We pride ourselves on living our values as a reminder to our employees that we should always treat one another with kindness as we work to achieve our vision. Sharing examples in our team meetings that model these behaviors helps us to remember every single day why we are here. ChenMed isn’t typical, and we can’t be if we want to change the world. Our culture of genuine care, passion, and innovation makes us one of the Top 100 Best Places to Work in IT as recognized by IDG’s Insider Pro and Computerworld! We do our best to set each person up for success and we’re sorry to hear that did not happen for you. We appreciate your transparent feedback as we’re always looking for ways to improve. We wish you the best in your next chapter!

Disorganized & Dysfunctional

Pros

Beautiful corporate mission to provide VIP care to seniors. For sure, the company makes a positive difference in the lives of patients. There are many kind and good people working at ChenMed. Chen Family seems to reflect beautiful values and a true passion for their mission (if only their employees really knew how to execute to make it so.)

Cons

Incredibly disorganized, management-heavy, shifting priorities, gross incompetence in middle management roles, micromanagers, wastefulness and unnecessary levels of management, mold to their cult-like, ra ra culture or else. Say only what managers want to hear, don’t even consider rocking the boat, not a place for disrupters or innovators, toxic culture, two-faced middle managers who say one thing and mean something entirely different, threatened by real-world industry knowledge, incredibly stressful, meeting-heavy, unpleasant culture, managers have no clue what real world project management looks like. Training is terrible! Hours on end in mind numbing Zoom meetings. Egos soothing and butts kissing absolutely required. Colleagues up all night trying to meet unrealistic deadlines set by managers who don’t have a clue. Employees terrified of losing their jobs if they say the wrong thing to the department head. Incredible amounts of waste every day.
