Pros

Flexible hours and great coworkers. Big new fancy office. Plenty of verbal praise and head patting.

Cons

Chewy.com is much more concerned with how they appear to customers and future employees than how they treat current CSRs. Upper management commonly ventures onto glass door not to learn from reviewers, but to create fake reviews to balance out what they don't want people to hear. There is constant miscommunication between upper management. Boot licking is an absolute must if you wish to move up in the company.

Pros

Health insurance if your single is good. Time off easily approved. Overtime if you want it.

Cons

A lot of gossip. Another review on glassdoor talks about cronyism, that's totally true. If the boss likes you, then you'll get promoted. Boss is volatile and can be mean to employees and goes way over the top. If you forget to ask a customer a pet name, it's as if the end of the world is about to happen and you'll be written up. Walks past employees and screams ask pet names ask pet names, just really weird. One day she can be nice and then other days nasty and manic. Don't be fooled by the smiley faces when you get your offer letter. Take this job if you are unemployed. Don't leave another job to work here. All my coworkers are either looking for another job or going back to school as a way out. Corporate side isn't any better, people fired every other day. Not a stable place to work. Be prepared to leave your dignity at the door. Managers talk about employees, not a good place to work. Lots of coworkers have quit when they have been spoken to or treated really badly. If you make a mistake and are not one of the clique, then God help you. If you make a mistake and the boss likes you then it's all good. You don't mean anything to Chewy and all employees know it.

Pros

Coworkers are mostly nice, the dress code is casual, I never have trouble getting time off approved (although you only get ONE week of paid vacation).

Cons

So many. It's a tough job, it's customer service. Management is horrible. They seem nice at first, disagree with them once (even when they're in the wrong) and you're forever doomed. The other upper management including leads really don't know what they're doing. Nobody is ever on the same page here. Ask 10 managers the same question and you'll probably get 4 or 5 different answers. Promotions are given based on 2 things: 1. Who will play politics and tell upper management only what they want to hear and 2. Who is friends with upper management outside of work. Everyone seems to date, or have dated everyone in the office. They actually have an entire page in the employee handbook dedicated to "office relationships." There are many instances where an employee is actively dating their direct supervisor. Gossip runs rampit here. There are so many cliques and managemt is part of it. They constantly talk about other employees to other employees behind their backs. Really unprofessional. You're expexted to do way too much multitasking. I understand its a fast paced environment, but there's a limit. I almost always leave work completey mentally exhausted.
