Pros

I've been working here for a few months and it has been one of the best places I've worked. Customer service is easy and love seeing everyone here. It took me a little bit to get my confidence up on some of the products I've never heard of, but now I feel like I'm good. The policies are pretty easy so you can do what you need to do to help the customer. The reward system is pretty amazing.

Cons

1 week vacation is a bit of a downer, but that's it. I haven't been denied time off, I just have to take it unpaid. One of the leads in the "smaller team" is a bit unalproachable but that's it.

Pros

Working at Chewy.com is unlike any other job I've ever had. All parts of the business are merged together in one office without walls or doors separating the departments. Under one roof, in the same room, you'll find a customer service team of 150 people, marketing, supply chain, fulfillment, IT, HR, and not to mention a CEO, CTO, and COO that actually in the office everyday. Open collaboration is encouraged and if you have a questions for a lead, manager, VP, or Chief you can always go to them. There is a tremendous amount of room for growth within each department, it just depends how hard you are willing to work and how many projects you are willing to accept. I didn't get to where I am in the company today by coming in each day as a CSR (although that is where I started) and being satisfied with that. I took on more and more projects and made a name for myself as someone who was willing to do more without being asked or told. So far that mentality has paid off. The benefits of working at this company are fantastic and that's not just the medical, dental, and eye. The knowledge that someone can gain from working here, for even a year, is a huge benefit to their future career here or somewhere else if they decide to move on. This company is not for everyone. It is for the go-getters, the ambitious, and the energetic because without these qualities you won't make it far.

Cons

Managers should refrain from talking about employees in front of other employees. This is a common issue and I understand the cause for concern. If you need to talk about an issue/employee take it to a place where no one can hear it except the parties involved. Growth can seem slow or even stalled out at times and that can seem the case until new positions and more leadership are needed. Balancing work/life relationship can be difficult. I personally spend more time at the office than I do at home (this is not required) and when I'm at home I tend to work there also(this is not required). But for me, I don't mind the work. I know that what I'm doing is benefiting everyone in the company from CSRs to the Chiefs in some way, whether it goes recognized or not.
