Pros

Then opportunity to get education when hired under an EPIC position is outstanding. I believe Margo Karsten wants a positive change.

Cons

Bad Atmosphere. The Old Guard is still calling the shots even though Margo Karsten is the new CEO. Good employees are singled out, persecuted, and made an example of of how not to be if they are outstanding employees. The advice from the employees working long term is to keep your head down, do not help out beyond your position and stay invisible. Older employees causing the discontent and blaming the problems on the new employees. Education opportunities dismally inadequate for most of hospital. The hospital wants to be seen as a great place to go for both jobs and healthcare, but lacks the commitment to either quality measure. Engagement of the employees is not the way, but better management is the key here. Have you seen the employees come in for their shifts and only see sad faces? ANY employees filing a legitimate claim are always informed as a standard answer 'there was no evidence' for your claims allowing for more harm than good and decreasing the morale. No career avenues for anyone, which makes honest claims. Firing is always on the horizon. Benefits are not competitive. 6 holidays a year and not great health insurance.

Pros

Partnership with Studer Group reinforces the value of accountability and behavior standards. This organization is growing to meet the needs of the community and region. It is investing in staff and future. New construction and EHR (Epic), the organization is in the midst of transformational change for the good of all stakeholders. It supports continual learning with an excellent tuition reimbursement plan.

Cons

There are some lingering perceptions within the community that the care is somehow substandard. Infact, this organization has excellent nurses and physicians.
