Favoritism.

Pros

Holiday pay, tuition reimbursement, wellness program, all staff meetings and team building.

Cons

Favoritism, hiring based on if they like you. Promoted based on if they like you not so much If you are doing your job. Hiring based on race. If you are of a certain race don’t expect advancement. They judge your performance on the color of your skin. Management doesn’t look like the people we serve. HR doesn’t look like the people we serve some of HR shouldn’t be in the position that they are in. The Assistants know more than the Benedit people and are more available to answer questions.

We are sorry this is how you have experienced CCRC. We take hiring and promotion practices very seriously and all supervisors are trained on procedures for recruiting, interviewing, and promotion. The agency has an Affirmative Action Plan in place to provide guidance and help ensure fairness across the agency. We are proud of our diverse workforce that includes former clients, interns and volunteers. It would be helpful for us to understand more about your experience and we encourage you to speak with the VP of HR, the COO, or the CEO so that we can learn more about the issues you have noted.

Pros

You will never get fired for not doing your job Benefits are OK, as in at least you get them

Cons

- HR constantly changing things (evaluations, attendance policy...) - "competitive" pay not based on performance - Sick time should not be tied to time at work when you have a mandatory 5 day off policy - Advancement is based on interview process but hiring based on nepotism is strong - nobody is ever let go because agency is scared of litigation - CEO is out of touch with employees. Recently told a story about how he almost couldn't afford to send his kids to school (University) but thankfully his father passed away and would not be a burden on his family/financials. - new CTO gutted IT department. No on site staff to fix simple issues - "fixed" parking issue by continually removing spots - inept supervisors at every level. But very few that actually know how to manage. - people aren't fired even when they sleep just a few desks between the head manager and directors office

We are sorry that you have experienced CCRC in this way and can understand your frustration. As with any large organizations, there are many things that affect CCRC positively and negatively during periods of recession and growth including budget, space, and new/changing laws. We encourage you to speak directly with the VP of HR, the COO, or the CEO so that we can learn more about the issues you have noted.

Pros

Flexible schedule, work flow is manageable. Great team building activities.

Cons

Low pay for the amount of work. Work environment would be better if people felt they were paid what they were worth.
