Good place to work

Pros

The people are great and there is a lot of diversity. Really good work environment. The sky bridges have good ventilation and the parking has good security and makes you feel safe even during nights and evenings. People are always greeting people and everyone is willing to help if someone is lost.

Cons

Pay isn't that high compared to the market, they removed the 7 min grace time for clock ins. The walk from the parking lot is long and even though there are time clocks everywhere, you can only clock in using the one that's in front of your dept. You spend unnecessary time doing Kronos when the supervisors should be the ones responsible for this. It's hard to that when the core lab is short staffed and management doesn't see it that way. They refuse to staff us and we have to train new employees and students on top of doing our jobs. No opportunities for promotional growth because management likes to rig the system and promote their friends.

Pros

Great kids, great pay. Lots of valuable experience and I'm proud to say I work for Children's. Decent benefits and overall a pretty good job. Excellent care for the kiddos.

Cons

Not the most comfortable job I've ever had. Big learning curve working with only kids (not much guidance). Lots and lots and lots of red tape. Some issues between staff members that can make it a little hard to feel like you belong. Some problems with mid mgmt being out of touch.
