Pros

Wonderful doctors and great medical care of Children and families -

Cons

Poor treatment of employees, especially long term ones. Many management employees need to be replaced because they do not appreciate employees - especially long term ones - management is only concerned with making themselves look better without any regard to employees they supervise, family needs, struggles with learning new tasks, etc. - they would rather get rid of you than allow the extra time needed to learn. Human resources is not supportive of employees at all when issue of poor supervisor/management is brought up. Several dedicated long term employees are leaving - if they are not fired first for complaining!

Unsupportive Work Culture

Pros

Working for an organization whose mission is to care for children and save lives.

Cons

Many leaders and employees have been at the organization for their entire careers and do not welcome new ideas or diversity. Career progression is not clear, and it appears people are promoted based on tenure, not performance. In some cases, leadership appears to be unsupportive, or even actively holding employees back from career growth and advancement. Openness and directness are discouraged, which breeds a culture of exclusion and passive aggression. There does not seem to be value placed on developing solid business strategy or planning for the organization’s future financial stability. I worked at several prominent organizations prior to coming to Children’s and was very disappointed to experience the unpleasant and unprogressive culture of this organization.

Pros

I don't even have any pros to list.

Cons

Toxic work culture. Bullying. Favoritism. Cliques. Nurses eat their young. Management plays favorites. If they don't like you, there's a target on your back and they'll look for reasons to write you up to get rid of you.
