Pros

The children are amazing. It feels wonderful to be able to care for kids going through a rough time. I enjoyed holding babies, and meeting different children. The nurses are often very nice and caring people, and fun to work with. There are a few bad apples here and there, but most of the nurses are nice.

Cons

Some nurses and CSA's are the picky type who overreact to small things- with a negative and judgmental attitude. For example, if you accidentally wear a tight scrub top- maybe you put on some weight, then they would report that and it ends up on your record. The management is often picky and looks for things that people are doing wrong- it can be a stressful environment to work because of this. There is more of a focus on rules and details then supporting employee's. I actually had to quit because they were not willing to let me go become a casual worker, and my school load was over whelming in my last semester at school. I ended up going through a year and a half of really difficult job searching/underemployment/depression because I didn't have the support I needed when I requested flexible hours. Some favored employee's will probably report they had a different experience. I was not in nursing school so I think, I was less valued- they knew I would leave eventually. The kids are such a positive that despite the negativity from management, I give this place 3 stars.

Pros

Children's has a great mission and does a lot of good things for the community and children

Cons

Leadership at this organization is lacking integrity, experience and general knowledge of business growth and development of employees. Lots of preference toward leaders who have been at the organization for a long time, not a lot of interest in new ideas or different opinions. Bias based on diversity of ideas that do not 'fit' with Children's way.

Pros

Children's has a great mission and is very patient centered. Stakeholders were excited to support such a good cause.

Cons

There was little upward mobility - but a lot of "shifting" in the org chart. Many people in leadership roles lacked experience. Spent a lot on outside consultants with little results.
