Pros

Beautiful teaching facility leading medical advancements, they really do care about the kids

Cons

Politics, very strict, follow the rules or else, took a pay cut to work there and was told the reason was they have a "very healthy applicant pool" and therefore do not need to pay their staff fairly. I kid you not....

Pros

Great team on my floor; Diverse specialties to work with; Some flexibility on shifts or to switch them; Small unit; Managers available on all shifts; I never had more than 6 patients; If you're going to school, there's the chance to be hired as a RN too, and I literally loved all the nurses I worked with.

Cons

The hospital itself is very understaffed, if another bigger unit needs help, you will float there. It happened a lot and it's frustrating because sometimes you're not actually needed. I had to be a sitter in many shifts, which means that I need to be in the room with the patient. Although necessary most of the times, I had many sitter patients that did not need to be a sitter. Low pay, which is unfortunately common for healthcare.
