Pros

Helping sick children is rewarding work. Benefits are reasonable -- good insurance options. Generally stable employment. Accessibly located. Clean. Employee wellness program is good.

Cons

Management mostly cares about themselves. Eliminated pension plan in favor of defined contribution plan. Raises have been small. Promotions can be difficult to obtain.

Pros

The hospital offers a decent benefits package in addition to salary. CHW recognized difficult economic times early on in the recession, made responsible fiscal decisions and has maintained a solid staff.

Cons

Employees will not be promoted from a manager to director level with an advanced degree. CHW doesn't care what type of masters (MBA or MA) or where it was received from (online) as long as it's on paper.
