Pros

I helped to make a difference for the lives of children in the foster care system.

Cons

Long hours, stressful job (a given in the field of social work), very low pay.

Pros

Some of my favorite things about this agency included having good coworkers and relatively decent pay for a social work position. There are a also a number of other positions within this agency if you want to have the chance to move around.

Cons

There's an incredible amount of unpaid overtime given the nature of the job. You also have to work with challenging clients, and you will not succeed in this position if you can't separate your emotions from your work.

Pros

They do great things for the kids. It made me proud to say I worked there for that reason alone.

Cons

Way too political in the IT Dept. If you don't fall in line with ideas you know are not right you are alienated.
