Small things like computers on wheels, lab being short staffed. Lab department is also not on epic so sometimes orders get confusing. Computers and vitals machines aren’t in the rooms.

As a PCA you are kind of thrown around by some higher ups whether that be other nurses, doctors, or whoever is in charge. It can be frustrating because you are there to do everything for your patient that is under the scope of basic care. So anytime the patient calls out, you are their point of contact. Now when you have 10 patients constantly needing help - this leads to a very busy shift. On days where I didn’t receive help from nurses or fellow PCAs I had to skip my lunch break. That part of the job was probably the worst part. The work isn’t glamorous by any means but that kind of comes with the territory of being a PCA.
