We are pleased to hear that you found your colleagues passionate and that you had the opportunity to be around the art. It is a shame to hear that you felt there was no career growth, we do encourage promotions from within and we have recently launched a career path framework for all our staff.

Pros

Access to art, intimate knowledge of how the art world works, constant opportunities to build art expertise and hone client service skills

Cons

Stress. New hires on the specialist track (I.e. cataloguers) should be prepared for 70+ hour weeks during deadline, which is biannual and can last for months at a time.

Poor management, low compensation, extremely long hours and high expectations for little return
