      Pros

      Colleagues are great to work with. Good place for personal development. Professional environment with highly talented people. If you love art this is the place to be.

      Cons

      Demanding. Difficult to find work life balance. Minimal mentoring received. Must be resilient to the fast past environment. More collaboration needed from Sr. Management.

      Pros

      Great benefits compared to most companies.

      Cons

      If you're in a support function then you are considered a second class citizen. No competitive pay. Stressful environment awful systems and it doesn't seem like anything is changing. No real room for growth. Very top heavy culture.

      Pros

      At Christie's you will be given a lot of responsibilities from the start and should expect to learn a lot. As a speciliast, I could develop relationships with key contacts in the art world and learn about the research, pricing and effective marketing of art.

      Cons

      Christie's has low salaries relative to other industries, however it may be one of the highest paying jobs in the art world. Expect to work long hours at times; as a specialist you will work weekends during the catalogue deadlines and right before the auction. The job can get stressful due to the many deadlines (e.g. catalogue production, marketing, tours, exhibition setup) associated with the auction.
