Pros

Interesting and unique business to gain entry to, feels like a club. Coworkers were down-to-earth despite much-ado-about-nothing-vibe type of work and requests. Work/life balance was decent. Good benefits.

Cons

No guidance from manager, only criticisms. No job security --- I witnessed whole departments being laid off, another team (which was outsourced) being "rebadged" to save on costs Manipulative, unproductive and unhelpful feedback from higher ups about behavior during meetings (I was on my laptop during hour long meetings doing work I had to finish and it was construed as being rude, whilst many other people were also on their laptops and were seemingly not reprimanded). Day-to-day work runs on email requests, which is not ideal in a 21st century corporation. No sense of workload organization. You have to be your own project manager. Many of the interfaces the company use routinely do not function, contain bugs and are needlessly hard to navigate. Company throws money at quick solutions and end up with faulty systems that, in the long run, hold them back from innovation

Thank you for taking the time to leave us a review. We are really pleased to hear that you worked alongside nice colleagues, you received good benefits and you had a good work/life balance. Christie’s has recently spent a substantial amount of money on new IT Systems. These systems are constantly being tweaked to meet our unique demands and this will be an on-going process that the business is always open to feedback on. COVID has had an impact on the way the world works globally, sadly many organisations had redundancies during this time. With hybrid working practices we are now able to work more flexibly and often this includes more email requests. We are sorry to hear that you experienced challenges within your team, our regional HR Teams are always here to support our employees, we encourage employees to reach out with any queries they may have.

Thank you for taking the time to leave us a review. We are pleased to hear that you worked alongside passionate colleagues and that you got to see amazing things every day. We are understandably proud to work for Christie's and have policies in place to ensure fair and consistent management of pay. Our aim is to provide a competitive total compensation and we also strive to offer a good benefits package to all our employees; as with most companies, pay is linked to personal and company performance.

Pros

Looks good on a resume, and there are some hardworking, knowledgeable people here.

Cons

Thankless position with no room for advancement (unless someone leaves or is laid off), with no mentoring from management. Very low pay - not a living wage, bonuses are not a given and can be extremely low. Christie’s was wholly unprepared for COVID-19 (lack of equipment, technical support , communication, and a short or long term plan leading up to the literal last second) with many skilled employees getting laid off and lower-level employees (Coordinators) picking up all the slack under constraints (Over time cut + more work = unrealistic/unsustainable amount of work). Unreasonable expectations and upward mobility based solely on favoritism/personality and not quality of work. Isolating because lower level employees’ fates solely in the hand of their direct line manager (not able to work directly with other coordinators). Technical processes are archaic, inefficient, and laughably time-consuming. Little/no on-boarding so coordinators are set up to fail from the get-go unless your manager is empathetic and on your side.

Thanks for your review; we feel that COVID came out of nowhere and no companies were prepared for it,. Our recent staff survey showed that most staff feel we did a good job given the unprecedented situation (there is, of course, always room for improvement) And whilst we have worked hard to try and make people feel connected, the global lockdowns have proved a challenge to many who feel isolated and disconnected. As a minimum we pay the living wage plus a strong benefits offering and generous holiday allowance, however bonuses are linked to company performance and as such are variable.
