Pros

I have worked through Ciber for several years and have always received great reviews from my clients. Ciber was never great at communications back to the consultants but since they have gone through a total re-org of the business it is worse. No one knows who does what and they completely forget you even exist. I will be looking at other consulting firms for my next contract. YOU ARE ON YOUR OWN ONCE YOU START AT CLIENT.

Cons

Benefits are good. Salary is Fair to Good.

Pros

The pay! An IT staffing company that fails miserably at trying to compete with professional IT firms like Accenture, IBM, CSC and others on major outsourcing and complex technical deals. Your best bet for success is to focus on and sell IT staffing.

Cons

Senior management is nothing more than a bunch of overpaid weasels and yes men that brag about past heroic achievements and stick around for a pay check. Life is too short for truly capable and principled employees to hang around credit stealing, pontificating blowhards with serious infantile issues. Case and point. What CEO leaves a billion-dollar technology company to run a retirement organization. Probably one with a lot of $keletons in his Ciber closet!

Pros

Professional people. Great projects. Good Benefits. CIBER is a not really a "project based" consulting company, but more like "I need someone good and potentially a few more people if it works out" type company. Very professional and well organized work environment. Full time salary and benefits.

Cons

They pay by salary (not by the hour) so they get much more of a "cut" than hourly consulting. Yet if there isn't coverage even for one day (in between projects) they will dock you for overhead and just cut you loose. This kind of lower salary usually comes with "bench time", but CIBER treats salaried people like hourly "easy to cut" people who usually can get way more per hour.
