A company that is in search for itself

Pros

A dynamic company trying to create a unique identity. Corporate HQ in Denver, a great city without the high cost of the NYC pressure cooker. Base pay is at the upper end of the industry - comparable with the Big 5.

Cons

Offerings are similar to IBM but without the backing of a mature large enterprise. No firm strategic direction. A tendency to hang on to legacy offerings to build an impressive list of technology and services regardless of their value or company's ability to execute. Upper management churn. I reported to 6 different Sr. VPs in 5 years. None of them could find a strategy with both hands. Company has a tarnished image. Search terms: Ciber Voting Machines / Ciber PA Turnpike Pay to Play

Pros

There are some good people buried in there.

Cons

The CEO stated in 2012 that over 60% of the companies work force would be replace by workers in eastern Europe and India which has included secretaries to Project Mgrs. Additionally the senior leadership recently indicated they do not want to hire American as they can make more profit on on H1 workers. To that end some Americans currently on the pay roll have been allowed to go to the unemployment lines once their contract was complete while the recruiting team paid to fly over workers from other countries. One of their recruiting practices is to lead you to be believe that while you are making less than industry standard you will be reevaluated after several months and paid more. This is 100% inaccurate which has directly lead to individuals quitting. Lastly workers were told by the HR Executive with the CEO standing directly next to him that as the consultants are the product by which the company makes its money we need to train to become more valuable. A worker in the room asked when the staff would have time to train as they were already working 50 hours a week and the HR Executive indicated that the workers would do this unpaid on their own time at home. Also they canceled the holiday party two years in a row.
