Pros

There are endless opportunities to advance professionally within the medical center, as well as support and encouragement for continuing education. Although the medical has grown into a small city of its own, there is always a sense of family and pride among employees.

Cons

The only downside I can think of is parking. Most employee parking is off site and you take a shuttle to the hospital. However, if I worked down town I would be paying an arm and a leg to park then would have to walk several blocks to my office .... so I'm not going to complain.

Pros

One of the biggest reason is that it is one of the very big organization in Ohio and also Best Environment to work in. There is always an opportunity to grow, They will support you with your studies if you wish to study further. Their Morales are very high in regards to helping community. Everyone is equally respected and is helped with needed. great benefits avaliable for employees. They work with your schedules and try as much as they can to help you accomodate your schedule of life. Leaders are always there to listen what you have to say and are ready to understand your point of view.

Cons

Being a big organization, there are always disputes. Somethings are there which you will never ever agree with like their system set up. Sometimes it becomes harder with little politics been played in work enviornment, but again that is every where you will find that. Some policies are their which you might not agree with, but over all nothing negative to tell you about this organization.

Pros

The worldwide reputation CCHMC has for providing excellent care for children. CCHMC provides the only colorectal center in the world for children with anorectal malformations. The clinical collaboration with other departments within CCHMC is excellent. The physicians stay on top of all research in their areas. Information systems are wonderful-you call one number to get any kind of help you need for any of the software applications that you use on a daily basis to make your job easier. Communication is wonderful. I have never had anyone tell me they don't know how to help me. If they don't know the answer they are able to get me to the person who can help me.

Cons

Parking-employees are shuttled from off site parking facility 2-3 miles away from the hospital. Nurses and physicians park at base along with other clinical folks as well as any handicapped employees. Most business folks park off site which adds 30 to 45 minutes to their day. That is alot of time week after week, month after month, year after year. Although parking is provided and employees do not have to pay for parking as they would at other companies it is still a large problem. I know the leadership is doing the best they can considering how much CCHMC has grown over the past few years but it is still a concern.
