Pros
Anyone who has worked a tech job in the Portland Metro market over the last 10 years knows the struggle of operating as a contractor. Less pay, more work, next to no benefits, unstable projects, and an overall sense that your contract sponsor views you as replaceable within a moment's notice.
Cinder recognizes these inherent flaws in the contracting game, and have taken a drastically different approach than the status quo. By offering a stellar benefits package, job training, above average pay, and a steady wage increase schedule, they have created an environment where their employee's know they work as a team at Cinder first and foremost.
Cinder focuses on stability for all their employee's by providing a safety net in a very tumultuous market. In the 5 years I've worked with Cinder my life has changed drastically. Because Cinder made it clear that they were committed to my growth and success from the first day I started, I finally felt financially secure enough to buy my first new car, my first home, and I proposed to my spouse. Truly amazing things happen when you feel like your company has your back.
I firmly believe when a company respects their employee's, their employee's respect the company and it pays dividends to everyone involved. Through their mantra of, "connecting awesome people" and showing a respect to their workers, they have created a highly motivated, loyal, and dedicated team that strives to do the best they can for their clients.
Cons
The only cons that I can think of are inherent to the contracting industry itself, which Cinder strives to overcome.
