Pros

Great training resources Flexible Fair work allocation

Cons

Issues with drive access A lot of diy stuff including unsupervised onboarding 1. Since I started I have been discovering that a lot of accesses were not granted to me. I had a limited amount of accesses which I received before I joined and I was able to set myself up based on those emails. However there were a lot of access missing as I have discovered later. There was no one who would have given me a list of systems I needed to have access to or who looked at my computer and checked if I need any more accesses. I was always finding out that I missing something by my future manager asking if I had access to a particular website, sending me the link and then me being able to check if I had those access and if I didnt - I had to figure it out myself how to get that access. My manager is still at Team Leader level and could not assist on this. I had not been given anyone else I could contact for this assistance. I was referred to other new starters to ask them how they gained various accesses, which I found very frustrating as these people were not my managers and were not asked by anyone else to help me. I had to ask if they could help me myself. Every time when I set myself a Service desk ticket for the missing access, IT was asking me for different paths of those Drives. I was very frustrated by the fact I had to ask people for the paths of the Drives I didn’t have access to, in order to create me a correct ticket, and then IT telling me that it was wrong paths, closing those tickets and I had to start again. I felt like I was intimidating people when I had to ask them again for a different path as they were telling me that they sent me all they could and I had no idea what I was asking, as I obviously didn’t have access to those Drives. So I was pretty much stuck in the middle between IT and those people who could not help me either. It was really time consuming, stressful and created a barrier between myself and people who got involved. I also had to figure out who would be the approvers on those tickets and I was not able to find this info out and no one could help me. I am really frustrated that the new joiner has to request accesses to the Drives he/she doesn’t have. 2. Also Citco has a lot of great Training Resources but I also had to figure it out myself which ones to use as I was often referred to the websites which were not really trainings and I could see that person referring me didn’t know what was included in those materials. So I wasted a lot of time going through those materials and figuring it out myself what do I need and what other resources should actually be used. Fiona Kavanagh was a great help to provide me with a good summary emails which contained a structural method on learning new systems, etc. But it took me a while to guess that she could have some good emails and I should ask her, as I was not referred to her and instead I was referred to some random websites and Learning hob which didn’t contain the trainings which I was told it does. So I finally knew who to go to in case I was not referred to the right resources.
