Pros

Great benefits. Good amount of time off. Ability to buy an extra week of vacation. 401k and pension are worth it. Immediate co-workers are general fun to work with.

Cons

Where do I start? There is not enough staff. We are spread so thin its hard to function. The micro managing is ridiculous. Tellers have pop-up prompts to present to customers and have to write down their "meaningful conversations" with customers daily. You have to make individual goals to get any incentives and the goals go up every quarter. If you don't make appointments, expect to be hounded until you do. I feel as if I am harassing my customers. It is not at all fair to them. I would not bank there if I didn't work there. There are currently no raises either and if you do good on one goal they will just turn to the one you didn't make and ask you why. There is no recognition. We have daily goals on credit cards, checking, loans and investment appointments. Also a new focus every day. You never no what you are actually supposed to be focusing on. It's very confusing.

Pros

I had some great knowledgeable colleagues who were very customer centric to both internal and external clients. There was the ability to meet people from different areas within the bank if you were working on a project that was fully supported.

Cons

Very low pay especially if you were promoted within. I left for a public sector/ non-management position and still was able to make 20% more. Outside hires would start at significantly more pay. Senior management no longer supported projects that would help increase productivity or efficiencies only projects that would being in revenue, usually at the expense of the customers. Branch staff, originally financial professionals just beginning their careers were replaced by unprofessional cheaper personnel with backgrounds in retail. Again the customer suffered...

Pros

The best thing about working for Citizens is the team you are apart of. Everyone has hilarious and informative anecdotes for sharing which makes each day pass by extremely fast. The benefits arent too impressive (no tuition-reimbursement for example) but the varied experience you gain will definitely be useful in the future.

Cons

No raises at the moment, incompetent management.
