Pros

- Hours....if you work in a traditional branch. (If you work in an in-store branch, you will work until 7 everyday including holidays and you'll work Saturdays and Sundays until 3) - Paid training (pay mileage to training facility) - Small bonuses if you can somehow magically manage to meet the quarterly sales goal - Three weeks vacation begins immediately - pays better than most banks

Cons

- Very poor management (micro-managed) - Cold calling twice per week until 6 sometimes 7 at night - Goals are unattainable and you will be terminated for not hitting them - You will stand by Get-Go gas pumps and sell checking accounts and credit cards - You will walk up to people shopping for groceries in GE stores and sell accounts and credit cards - You will be told an hour before you are due to leave for the day that you're working past close to make cold calls. - Very stressful job for the pennies you will make - Your manager will make or break your experience here - You will be asked to do unethical things in order to hit goal

Pros

-Flexible -Great Benefits -Decent pay for low experience

Cons

-No interaction with upper management -No communication what-so-ever, even within the same department -Can attain great accomplishments such as highest sales within a specific branch/department of the company and be reprimanded for not meeting another requirement that directly contradicts your accomplishments, ex: Phone calls too long because of sales. -Poor recognition practices -Continually taking away privileges from employees, no matter what length or quality of employment

Pros

when you leave this company you'll remember how happy you were before you joined them

Cons

This bank has a culture where they enable people who abuse those who work for them and quietly remove those who speak up. If you see behavioral issues from your boss (yelling, humiliating people in meetings, verbal abuse) do not make the mistake of trusting HR with your concerns or trusting any of your "leadership" to help create a safe work environment. The leadership lacks an ethical compass (which you would expect in banking) and will weaponize HR against people who raise concerns. Don't listen to the advice HR gives. Don't fill out "anonymous" engagement surveys. Don't raise concerns. Just pretend everything is fine and quietly get out. This org is similar to a department of crooked cops - you get with the program or mysteriously disappear one day.

Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback. This is certainly not the type of culture that we support. Please consider contacting the HR Service Center (hrservicecenter@citizensbank.com) to share more information about what you experienced so that we can look into and address as appropriate.
