Working here is an absolute NIGHTMARE !!! Do yourself a favor, stay away from this job.
Pros
Salary is competitive . Also weekly pay checks for non-exempt ( hourly) employees . Bi-weekly checks for exempt (salaried) employees.
Cons
- Say goodbye to your social life: branches are terribly understaffed, tremendous workload , most days there are a line of customers in the branch waiting to be served. Schedules in branch rotate weekly so it is hard to plan anything. - Training are short and not helpful. - If you are hired as a banker( Universal Banker, Small Business Banker, or Licensed Banker) or Assistant/ Branch Manager the majority of your day will be spent performing teller transactions behind the teller line. - No sick days, your sick days are the same as your vacation time. Therefore if you take a sick day you are using your vacation time. btw branches are so poorly understaffed you may receive disciplinary actions for calling out sick. - cost of health benefits are ridiculously high. I've worked for other banks in the past and never before have I ever had to pay this much in health and dental insurance . -Very sales driven. Sales goals are INSANELY high and not realistic. It's hard to make a sale or referral when the line of customers is so long it is reaching the door. -Technology is very slow and outdated. Systems go down several times during the day. In some cases opening new accounts or submitting applications can take up to an hour.
