Pros

Training was excellent, you will feel very comfortable talking about the product before you get on the phone. Talking to government customers isn't super difficult, can get people on the phone reliably. Coworkers are cool and good people. You can probably get a job here, they are constantly hiring and the bar to getting hired is low. If you need something now and plan on treating the role as transitional employment, it's not a terrible option.

Cons

Pay is well below market rate for this kind of work. The "promotions" you get within the SDR role come with modest increases in pay, offset by increased quota. Complete churn and burn, people leaving and new ones brought in constantly. Extremely high turnover rate, even for an SDR role. They'll tell you you only have to make ~45 calls a day, which is true but only because the process is so inefficient that's all you have time for. Your quota is based 100% on qualified opportunities, meaning you have very little control over your final number. You also have no control over the accounts you get sent each month so if you get a bad batch, no way you're hitting your quota. Management's expectations on conversion rates are wildly unrealistic. No room for advancement. They require you to be in seat for one year before promotion is even considered, but few even make it to that point. Something like 5X as many SDRs as AEs meaning opportunities to move into a closing role are few and far between. Everyone I knew that had been promoted internally was into leadership roles in the SDR organization.
