Pros
The users appreciated my service. The team was supportive and communicated openly. IT management was forward thinking on implementing new technologies to keep pace with the industry. The India-based helpdesk was very knowledgeable and easy to work with.
Cons
Stagnant pay and compensation across all field positions, even compared to the rest of the IT Deskside job market. Users resisted most self-service options and any communication with the helpdesk due to the language accent and perception that the helpdesk was incompetent, despite my demonstrations to the contrary. The result was too much work for too little pay.
