Long hours, lack of parental support, and large class sizes. Union is basically worthless, except to take your dues.

If you are a middle/high school science teacher, you are guarenteed a job In Nevada, there is no state income tax which can offset the low salary

Cons

Your entire life will revolve around test scores I have a 500 copy maximum per month as a teacher of 180 students. You cannot get the tools you need to be successful Pay is low even with years of experience In general, teachers are always being told "you aren't doing it right and you aren't doing enough" no matter how much effort you actually put into your job In the community, teachers are looked down upon and are told "you don't deserve my taxpayer money"
