Pros

a free pair of shoes per year which are very comfortable nice people that work in the stores with you

Cons

once on "the list" upper management will "find" a reason to get rid of you. Don't speak your mind, just do what is asked...if you have time. You will if you work off the clock.

Pros

A business that genuinely cares about its people (in HQ at least). Strong brand and a well-known name for your CV. Financially sound business and still privately owned. Good opportunities for internal progression and development. Strong vision and direction from the top, communicated often and clearly to staff.

Cons

Slow and bureaucratic and not always open to new ideas. Overly complex and collaborative, everyone needs to agree before you do anything (see point above re slow). Under invested in management training/development and most managers seem promoted for technical ability, not their ability to manage people - so hit and miss whether you get a good manager or not.

Pros

HOURLY WAGE in addition to AWESOME COMMISSION STRUCTURE. If you can sell very well you will be compensated very well. You can make as much as an assistant manger or store manager just only as a sales associate (not kidding). You receive a pretty generous discount as well.

Cons

No health benefits for part timers. Even if you are the top sells person and demonstrate that you can beat your full-time counterparts (Store Mgr, Assistant Mgr, Third Key) unless one of those positions open up you will be stuck as a part-timer. This job is best suited for those who have a primarily bread winning job and need a supplemental part-time job. If you obtain a full-time position consider yourself very lucky.
