Assistant manager. Four years with this company. It's being driven into the ground

Pros

A single free pair of shoes a year. Horror stories to tell around the campfire

Cons

Corporate has just cut all managers pay by 15%, and all assistants have had their hourly reduced by 15%, AND are no longer able to work anything over 40 hours. These stores will not survive if management keeps this up. All of these cuts were made to make up for the costs of the shiny new building Clarks built for its home office. Now at least HR can sit confortably while ignoring our requests.

Pros

Very good pay, benefits, and training to make every manager successful. When you know you have people surrounding you that truly care, it makes you want to do your best every day. This is a wonderful company despite what you may read on this site. I have been with the company for 13 years and look to retire from Clarks. Global company with a small company feel, like working with family. Clark’s corporate has some of the most genuine and caring people I’ve ever met in the retail industry who want to see every team member out in the field be developed into feet experts while giving them extensive training to make it happen!

Cons

Yes, the company has had some wrong people in some higher positions, but they are gone. We are back to the company that I fell in love with 13 years ago and it’s a great feeling. There is a breath of fresh air now all around this company and employees all over the U.S. are excited and optimistic to see all the positive changes coming down the pipeline!
