Pros

Some co-workers were fun and enjoyable to be around. Hearing that the families and individuals have progressed was rewarding.

Cons

I worked for FBR for less than 1 year and was laid off due to my position being "eliminated". The parent company, CIS, needed to make up for a money loss because they aren't quite sure what they are doing in terms of how to run a company. Not even 4 months later after I was laid off, my position was posted online as open, then filled, and the new employee's salary is double of what my salary was in the same role. Company's revenue wasn't doing so well, was it? Employees of CIS are judgmental, rude, selfish and never approve anything for FBR employees. The management at the FBR Corporate office is laughable as well. Individuals were placed into billing department manager positions who have no management experience and make a sickening amount of money for it. The senior leadership team will lie to employees and field offices to save their own jobs instead of trying to help others. Area Operations Directors have NO idea what they are doing. Give them a fancy title and suddenly they are above everyone. They do and say a lot of illegal things when hiring new employees or having conversations with employees. Trainings were provided and the Director's were too important to pay attention to those trainings. A general no respect lingers at each office throughout FBR.

Pros

Clients make you feel fulfilled and are the only ones who will recognize your efforts. It’s rewarding to help them and see progress in their treatment.

Cons

Management has repeatedly asked us to complete duties out of our scope of practice (administer medication as a bachelor’s level case manager when a medical professional needs to be doing that). Delegation of duties always resulted in PSCs doing things that management never hired specific people for (front desk staff/receptionist, medication administration, filling in for specialists when they were out of the office, etc). Oh, and they will write you up if you don’t do those things that you’re technically not required to do. They also complain a lot about your documentation (the system that allows us to bill hours isn’t efficient and time consuming to complete) so you have to re-do entire notes that take you 15-20 minutes to complete and that deducts from your service hours. You have to bill 100 service hours a month and they make it way more complicated than it needs to be, only for them to send you back multiple notes at a time (pushing you back on your hours). Also there are A LOT of office politics. Some people who have worked there for years have serious issues and will target the newbies. Management isn’t impartial to these people and will side with them. There has been insane turnover because of these people specifically, and they don’t face any consequences for creating a hostile work environment.

The members, clients, community partners, and everyone that you work with that is not direct management!

Cons

Management is actually awful. The worst experience I have had with management to date. They apply no value to their employees and profit off of their passion. Disgraceful.
