Pros

Friends Pay (base + commission) They have a ping pong table

Cons

I've worked at Clearlink for months, and I have always done really well. 2 months ago, I had a bad week and my current coach, my past coach and the sales manager called me into a meeting and basically told me that I was expendable and told me how awful I am at my job. Anyway, I went back on the phones and was fine for 2 months, then I had another bad week because I had some family issues going on that management was aware of. They called me into another meeting and told me the same thing. The next day, my coach pulled me into a one on one meeting and he told me that he was mad because me having a bad week impacted his pay check and said that if I have another bad day, I'd be let go and told me how awful I am at this job. So I quit. I have been told by multiple coaches to lie to my customers. In one situation, my manager was sitting next to me and told me word for word what to tell the customer, so I did. The next day, I got in trouble for that call and my manager scolded me for lying on the phone! Really? Also, on my sales floor, I know someone that had been doing extremely well on the phones but missed a lot of work. Clearlink has a points system, you get 4 points before you get let go. Well this guy I worked with was over 4 and was sure he was going to get fired. The next day, he came in and 2 of his points had "mysteriously" disappeared. It's nice that they'll take points away for their top rep but when another of their employees is in the hospital for a week, she gets fired because of her points. Another thing Clearlink has is unavailability time, you get 28% of your 40 hours not taking calls, so breaks, team meetings, lunch, etc. Well there was a girl who had been working there for a little over a month and she went over her unavailability time. Clearlink is supposed to give you a verbal, written and then final warning. But for some reason, they gave the girl her final warning and had her job threatened. My manger told me that they had originally planned on just firing her because she didn't seem like she fit in too well, but they figured they'd give her another chance. She ended up not coming in for a few days and getting fired for having too many points, but seriously, there are so many things wrong with this company. On multiple occasions, coaches have been sending inappropriate texts to employees. Something that would have been reported IF there had been an HR department in the Orem office at the time. Also, I recommend checking your pay stub after you get paid because I've had multiple issues with receiving my commission. Most people don't notice because almost everyone does direct deposit, and unless you go searching through a box of pay stubs, you won't ever get a break down of what you're receiving. Kind of sketchy... It seems like after you start receiving your benefits it's management's job to try and get you fired. Most people don't last too long there even though Clearlink talks about how much they love their employees and care about them. It's pretty rare if you make past 3-4 months. But if you're a skinny, pretty girl in your early 20's, you'll do great there. Because all the managers are pompous men, you'll get hired even if you have ZERO work experience, and as long as you flirt back with the coaches, you'll enjoy working there.

Pros

The friendship and fun loving atmosphere they provide is great. They are always having mini parties, handing out energy drinks, celebrating silly holidays and so on. They also have a great training structure that has helped me in many other aspects of my life, and you get to go to it once a week. They also have a lot of benefits like discounted gym memberships to Golds, free health care after a year, tuition reimbursement and so on. They are also great to work with as far as scheduling goes.

Cons

There is a MAJOR downside to their benefits. You cannot get free health care til you've worked there for over a year. Sounds fair to me. However this just goes to show how very little people make it past a year. Same thing goes for tuition reimbursement, after 90 days you can apply before your class actually starts. And they pay out the day it ends as long as you are still an employee. However, once I applied I felt that I put a big target on to fire me so they could avoid paying me $2,000 in reimbursement. They also make it sound like it's so easy and do-able to get a coaching or management position if you work hard. Yeah right! I've never seen anybody that's been promoted, only them downsizing on management and letting coaches go all the time! The atmosphere can be fun, but it also attracts a lot of young college students creating a high school like work environment. There is a lot of gossip, he said she said, drama and horny young adults. But, maybe you're into that kind of thing. The company will treat you like gold if your'e doing well, management is great at patting you on the back and making you feel awesome. On the flip side, they are also great at making you feel worthless. This job has been the biggest emotional roller coaster not only for myself, but for my coworkers and even my family. You're either high as a kite their or lower then low. No middle ground. The pressure is intense! You're expected (minimum) to sell at least 20% of your calls. Sounds easy right? However more then half of the calls that come in are for customer service- you are still accountable for the those calls. I was selling at a 30% conversion rate for the last 3 months and have had great relationships with all my coaches. However, this past week I've had a really hard time 3 days in a row. I am now being let go because of the sales metrics in the last 3 days. Nobody cares that I've been doing excellent the past 3 months. Their love for you is only as great as your last sale. If you want to live your life in constant fear of being let go at any moment for not selling a call- by all means apply for Clearlink! I would recommend this job as a great TEMPORARY position while you are finding another job.

Pros

Great base pay and commission on top of that. The harder you work, the more you get paid. Tons of incentives. Great atmosphere. Weekly training. This company takes care of you in your job and takes into consideration life outside of work.

Cons

Taking phone call after phone call on super busy days can be mentally exhausting.
