Initially it was a good experience that turned out disappointing.

Pros

The chance to work with good employees that work hard was definitely a pro.

Cons

There is little employee loyalty and part-time job work for business professionals. Hundreds of employees are losing their jobs and these are folks with 15 - 30 years of service.

Pros

It is known for it's outstanding reputation in Medicine. There are great opportunities for new RNs or anyone else for that matter. Employees can learn and grow in the system.

Cons

They have reduced new RN pay to a ridiculously low rate and they expect new grads to study at home to learn more. Studying at home would be fine if they were being compensated for the additional time/money.

Pros

Patients- population are mostly self insured, mostly educated and have adequate resources to assist themselves. some benefits are good- healthcare is not that great. Its free to see the doctor at your own hospital (confidentiality is kind of skewed here) but you can go out of network for additional costs. The 403B is actually good, they match up to 2%.

Cons

Patients- well off people sure do know how to complain. Compensation- on the lower side. As a new graduate they offered me an hourly salary that is 5 dollars less than the national average and the local average. They also offered a friend of mine (with a degree looking for a higher up job) a salary that was 15,000 dollars less than market value. I took the job, but my friend didn't and ended up making more money elsewhere.
