A wonderful place to work

Pros

- culture is healthy - lots of focus on DEI - tons of transparency and visibility for career trajectory - managers have your back and want you to grow - employees feel included in a lot of decision-making - tons of feedback requested from employees and most of it gets used in the company's decision making process

Cons

- pay feels less than competitive for the expectations of the customer solutions agent position - back to school (Aug - Sept) is chaotic, even with nearly 30 extra contract customer solutions agents - there is a strong internal focus on metrics (expected) which can put anxiety and pressure on agents

Pros

Lot's of opportunities to work into other roles if you are looking for growth. The benefits are great and pay is equitable. Overall, a fantastic place to work.

Cons

Sometimes it can be a bit cliquey and the employees are often very young, which comes with it's side effects.

Engineering quality is great, but work/life balance varies greatly among teams

Pros

- superb engineering quality (most engineers are ex-FAANG) - meaningful work on a product that really makes a difference for students - coworkers are very social and it's very easy to make friends

Cons

- comp is much lower than average for SF - engineering department cares about results over people. this is shown by two things: 1. yearly reorgs where engineers have no say in what teams they're placed on 2. work/life balance is good on some teams but awful on others. when i told my manager that i was struggling with WLB, he responds "several engineers at my last company killed themselves. you should be happy that isn't happening here"
