Pros

I'm not one to fawn over corporations, but Clever is a truly amazing place to work. The culture here is HEALTHY. Good work/life balance, people who are so genuine and nice and care about both the product and the people, flexibility, and so much more. I got seriously ill a month after starting and everyone was so kind and lifted me up, helped me in any way they could, and emphasized my health above all else. I had over a month worth of time out when all was said and done and was welcomed back with open arms when I was ready. Clever's product is also just really innovative and their commitment to design has made for everything I've ever looked for in a company. I foresee this being a place I'll work at for many, many years to come. One more thing: the diversity in this company is pretty incredible. I've seen many companies talk the talk about DEI, but Clever walks the walk. I'll be in rooms with 10+ people and all of them will be from different backgrounds -- cultural, racial, gender identity, career experience, and on and on.

Cons

No 401k match is a bummer, and there is no bonus structure. That being said, Clever frequently evaluates the market and makes market adjustments to salary in addition to having a really wonderful annual EOY performance review/merit raise process.

Pros

+ Typical start-up perks -- catered lunch every day, unlimited snacks, open floor plan + Good benefits including a professional development budget, unlimited Amazon learning credits, health & wellness activities, unlimited PTO, and much more + Culture and community is a very important element of Clever's foundation Everyone here is united around a mission of improving the K-12 education experience; but more importantly, I love coming to work every day knowing that I am surrounded by people who support my growth and care about me personally.

Cons

- No 401k employee match - Neighborhood is not the best - Room for growth in terms of promotional movement within the company - Very young company, (we're making strides in hiring more experienced leaders)

Pros

The people and culture are absolutely fantastic. It's a treat to come to work every day to be surrounded by such smart people. Senior management strongly believes in transparency, which makes expectation setting so much easier. I and others on my team have also been given numerous opportunities to explore other parts of the company which has been super exciting. Overall, it's by far the best place I've worked.

Cons

Sometimes things feel a little bit clicky, but as more time has passed in my role, those walls start to come down. 401k doesn't have matching (which is understandable for a start-up). Movement between different level is confusing and I honestly couldn't tell you what I need to do to get a promotion.
