Love my customers! Love Clinique! Not in love with my retailer
Pros
Excellent education seminars; treated well with a beautiful hotel conference room, good food, and gratis At Macy's, 3% commission on Clinique AND all cosmetics /fragrances Good co-workers Gratis from Clinique 3 times a year (not including school) Annual Christmas gift from Tiffany's I feel respected and valued by Clinique My clients are truly the best part of my job.
Cons
Both Clinique and Macy's shoot us in the foot by offering online incentives (sample bundles) far superior to what we can provide at the counter. For a client just replenishing her stock, why come to me when you can go online and get your stuff, plus great freebies? I strive to make my client interactions worth someone coming in by tips, tricks, advice and samples I do have. And I'm fortunate, I have the second-largest clientele at my counter. But we get told to do more, do better, when our sales are being siphoned off by the same people holding our feet to the fire. Macy's management is awful. They have it out for my counter manager because she's older and they want a newer, younger, less-expensive person in her spot. Micromanage, nit-picking, never compliment. Negativity trickles down to counter staff. It feels like we can never do anything right, even when do better than other lines in sales or customer feedback. NO room for growth. After counter manager comes Account Coordinator, which they eliminated in my area. Account Executive oversees multiple states.
